The US Basketball team nicknamed the Redeem Team looking to rebound from their lackluster performance and bronze metal finish in the 2004 Athens Olympics. Insupport of the team, and with the theme of playing with unity, Nike has released the United We Rise collection that includes several on and off-court kicks. Included are the Lebron Soldier II (top left), Air Jordan Olympian (top right), Converse Dwayne Wade Team Signature (bottom right), and the Air Force 25 low (bottom right). The shoes start at $100 per pair.
All the shoes in this United We Rise pack have the following distinctive features:
- Colors of the United States with a white upper and blue and red accents
- Tattoo-style laser etchings in the shoes which take inspiration from anything ranging from American culture, basketball and rising to the top themes
- Reflective property which seemingly makes them glow when hit by direct light
- Three sets of eight dots representing good luck and the start of the competition on 08/08/08
- Tongue of every shoe in the pack has the United We Rise logo
