What is your first memory that made you realize how when you were crazy about shoes?

When I was about five or six, Clarks brought out a range of shoes for little girls. The advert on TV featured a princess searching for treasure and in the heel of each shoe was a clear plastic circle with a picture of a gold key underneath – the key the princess was looking for to unlock the treasure chest. As a child in the UK you either wore Clarks shoes or Start-rite – and we were a Start-rite family. My friend R had a red pair of the Magic Key shoes and I really wanted a pair too, but was denied them.

I didn’t really get into my shoe obsession until university though, where I was egged on by my flatmate and friendS.

How did you first get involved with blogging?

I saw a feature on Gemma Cartwright and Shoewawa in Happy magazine in the summer of 2006. From there I started reading other blogs and decided it was something I could do too. I just started writing one day about my latest purchases, and it grew from there.

How do you balance work, family, choir activities, etc with maintaining your blog?

I blog either on my lunch break at work, in the evenings when I don’t have choir, or on weekends. I don’t have any children so my time is pretty much my own outside of work hours.

Which designers are your favorite?

I have always admired the work of Alberta Ferretti, but on the whole I find designer items over priced and wrongly sized for girls of my height. I wouldn’t say no if someone were to offer me some Manolo Blahniks or Louboutins though!

Which magazines and sites do you frequently visit to stay on top of shoe trends and new collections?

I have a bit of a glossy magazine obsession – in a typical month I read the UK & US editions of Cosmo & Glamour, UK Elle, Company and Lucky, as well as the weekly Look magazine. I have an extensive list of personal style blogs that I try to visit daily, and I love to keep up with what is happening in the fashion world via the awesome Catwalk Queen.
